Context pretty much the same as the PDF instructions posted in the link from posts above.
So it arrived today, along with a reprint of factory instructions for "Pursuit Series Factory Programming Guide". I really like the traditional square design and took the chance at $21.95. Then I saw a traditional square shaped one advertised as compatible with and replacement for several different Audiovox models of systems and able to program to different FCC id's, including ELVAT5G. Most of the bananna shaped ones came either in two or three button cconfiguration. Thanks again for all the help and info.įound several remotes on ebay. Will post results when I do it all but will likely take a week or two. So I'm looking at ordering a remote soon from ebay, going for under $20.
Not done it in sometime but if you went and tried to build a Toyota with a Zip that fell into the JM Market group you got different options than one outside their zip code groups. I often wondered about the quality of the products when I looked at them.Īlso, JM Enterprises has the power to change factory options. This is a big markup for them and you used to be able to find some really expensive aftermarket kits slapped on the vehicles by JM. Different rims, accessories, alarms, etc.etc. JM Enterprises takes in Toyota vehicles off the boat and adds their own/selected aftermarket items on to many vehicles. SET is a wholly owned subsidiary of JM Family Enterprises.(end) The 172 dealers in the five states of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina & South Carolina account for 20% of Toyota sales in the United States. This is from Wiki but is accurate.Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is the world’s largest franchised distributor of Toyota vehicles. reason for the difference is the way Toyota's, including Lexus are distributed in the Southeast Market. Here is a portion of the post that explains it, I haven't verified any of it but it appears to make sense. There was a response about it being port installed and an explanation, apparently the Prestige system and other installs have to do with the vehicle being sold thru southeastern dealerships. Maybe the alarm does not arm/activate unless remote is used?Īlso found a post on another forum where fellow listed same info on black boxes found under his dash just as I did. lock/unlock doors only, trunk, alarm, panic, etc.Īppreciate any info I can get, am totally perplexed and confused over this whole thing.:help: If I do have the ability to program a remote, how can I determine what it will control, i.e. Is there a way to determine if I do have keyless entry capabilities or not?ģ. Can I activate the alarm using just the red button? How does it work?Ģ. Now I'm really confused so since most of the search results pointed to this forum I decided to register and start asking, so here goes:ġ. So just finished researching some more and found info staing that this red button is a "Port Installed Alarm System" (?). So am wondering now if I do have keyless entry? The horn chirped twice I think then nothing, then a minute or two later if beeped again.
I got to thinking about it and on the way home while sitting at a stop light I tried pushing the button 3 times in a row. Then I found and read other posts about pushing this button in/out for remote programming.
Along the way I read a post somewhere about calling the dealership and giving them my VIN# to see if it came with keyless entry to start with, did that yesterday and was told my car does NOT have keyless entry installed.ĭuring all this time I noticed a small red led push button located on the lower dash to the left of the steering wheel.I looked through the manual and saw no mention what so ever of this button. It came with no remote, so spent several days researching about getting a new one (ebay?) and programming it. ™ - ™ - ™ - AutoAlarmPro.First off I am not a car guy so looking to the experts here for help.
